Sometimes I do not have the time or energy to do my hair. And other times I have a special event to attend and just need to look pulled together. Luckily, I have a blow dry salon near me.
I have visited the Blo in Birmingham, Michigan twice in the past couple of months. The first time was with my Mom who was visiting me from Florida. We were headed to New York City to celebrate my 50th birthday and decided to treat ourselves to blowouts. We were absolutely delighted with the service we experienced at Blo.
When we arrived, the receptionist promptly took our coats and offered us coffee, tea, water, champagne or wine. I had a hot tea and my mom had water. Our stylists came out and introduced themselves and then met with us individually about our hair and the type of style we wanted. They were both very knowledgeable and recommended styles to work with our hair type and face shape. And they asked if there were particular products that we liked and if it was OK to use heat styling tools.
When we left, it was raining and the receptionist gave us each cute, little umbrellas so that our hair would not get ruined. We offered to bring them back and she insisted that we keep them to protect our hair. We were so impressed with the service and the level of detail. I vowed that I would be back.
At Blo Birmingham a wash comes with the blow dry package which is $45 and includes styling and blow drying. The whole visit takes about thirty minutes. My stylist used Velcro rollers in addition to the blow dryer on my hair. And my Mom’s stylist used the flat iron to give her a sleek, straight style.
The salon has a huge selection of styles and they are all named which makes it fun. And I love that they sell products with the same names so that you can try and create the styles at home. I bought the dry shampoo before my trip to New York and I was able to get four days out of my blow dry even in the wind of New York City! They also have gift cards which make a perfect present for just about anyone.
So on a cold day about a month later, I went back. I got a fantastic blow out and enjoyed the conversation with the owner and a cup of coffee. Being that I had an event to attend that night, I felt it was a good time to get another blow out. I was so happy with the results. I will definitely be back.
