Trying to stay healthy during the fall season can be difficult. With pumpkin spiced lattes in every coffee shop, chocolate cakes and treats in all of the stores, and the cold weather – it is easy for us to overindulge and end up putting on some serious pounds over the season. 

In fall though there are some ways that you can combat this and detox the body – giving it the head start it needs to lose weight and stay lean. Today we want to share a few different drinks with you that will cleanse and detox the body, give you a metabolism boost, and help you burn extra calories. 

Homemade Ginger Shot 

Ginger is a powerful spice and it has many benefits for the body. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and this means it will help you to reduce swelling that causes bloating around the body. Ginger also helps to kickstart your metabolism in the mornings and can be useful to people who suffer from raynaud’s syndrome or poor metabolism. This drink is spicy and painful but it starts your day off right! 

Ingredients:

  • 50g ginger 
  • Juice of 1 lemon 
  • 2 tbsp coconut water 
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional) 
  1. Blend your ingredients together in a high powered blender until smooth. 
  2. Run through a sieve to get rid of any stringy ginger pieces. 
  3. Drink as a shot 30 minutes before the first thing you eat in the morning. 

Berry Blast Smoothie 

This simple smoothie recipe is packed full of antioxidants that will fight the signs of aging as well as vitamins that will help fuel the body in the right way and help you stay lean. 

Ingredients: 

  • 100g frozen berries (strawberries, mixed berries)
  • 1 tbsp natural yogurt 
  • 1 handful spinach 
  • 50ml orange juice
  • 1 tsp chia seeds  
  1. Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. You can also strain this through a sieve afterwards if you have issues with seeds from raspberries or blackberries. 

The Zen Maker Tea 

The first brew of the day should help you relax and ready yourself for the stress of the day. Instead of drinking a coffee right away – consider starting the day instead with a cup of tea that will cleanse, detox, and renew. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 green tea bag
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2-3 mint leaves 
  • 2 drops CBD oil (buy CBD Oil here)
  1. Boil a kettle and pour over your tea bag. 
  2. Add the juice of 1 lemon as well as your CBD oil. CBD oil is great for aches and pains as well as anxiety. 
  3. Leave for a few minutes to brew, remove the tea bag, and add mint leaves. 
  4. Enjoy this 30 minutes before your breakfast. 

Spicy Lemon Water 

Spicy lemon water is exactly as it sounds – and this spicy drink is hard to drink however it will help you lose weight. 

Ingredients: 

  • 300ml water 
  • Handful ice cubes 
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • Juice of 1 lemon 
  1. Mix all ingredients together and drink. 
  2. Ice will increase your metabolism, cayenne pepper helps burn fat, and lemon adds flavour and cleanses the body.
