If you are familiar with industry events or even trade shows, then you will know how valuable they can be. They are ideal if you want to grow your business and they can offer you tons of opportunities as well. If you have never attended a trade show before, then this guide will help you to plan out every aspect of the event so you can be more comfortable than ever.
Find out Who is Going
The first thing that you need to do is work out who is going to be attending the event. Attendee lists are often available but you do need to do your research so you can find out which contacts are going to be most interested. You can then fire a quick email to the people who are attending so you can encourage them to stop by your booth. You do however need to make sure that you don’t spam their inbox though because if you do then you may find that they end up avoiding your booth and this is the last thing that you need.
Bring your A-Game
Another thing that you need to do is bring your A-game. You have to make sure that your team are on-point with what their goals are so that they can push them. You also need to make sure that your team have the resources they need to get the job done as well. Bring some business cards with you and also make sure that you have an outgoing group of people at your tradeshow too. If you have team members who aren’t as good with people or if you know that you have someone who is not as good at socialising then it’s best to put them on other parts of the event as opposed to them being on the front line.
Prepare your Team
If you want your event to go well then research is key. If you are hosting an event in another state then MTI Events might be able to help you with this. Another thing that you need to do is prepare your team for the event by talking to them about the questions that might be asked and the answers that they need to give. If you do this, then you will soon find that you are able to get the best possible service.
Give Product Demos
It’s super important that you display your product and that you are prepared for any attendees to test it out. People want to be able to see, taste or even test something before they commit to buying it, so it is vital that you keep this in mind as much as possible.
Be Prepared
Trade shows can really be daunting at the end of the day. This is on a mental and physical basis. If you are feeling extroverted, then you may be able to handle the hyper-social activity. If you are an introvert, then you may find yourself running out of energy halfway through the day. This can be frustrating, but you need to push through if you want to make your show a success.
These are good tips! My husband works with digital products so I will pass this along in case he ever needs it!
It is always cool to go to trade shows. I’ve been to several in the past, as an attendee rather than a booth host. So important to make sure that people stick around and are interested in your pitch aka the demo! FREE STUFF IS GREAT TOO!! Thanks for sharing!
