There are so many wonderful things to do in Detroit to celebrate Fall. I love getting outdoors and finding creative ways to walk my 10,000 steps in each day. Yesterday, my daughter and her roommate and I went to Beacon Park in Detroit to check out Cider in the City. We had a blast. The whole park was decked out in a harvest theme complete with pumpkins, horse drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, pop up Blake’s Cider Mill store and live music.
We bought pumpkins, cider and donuts. Then walked around the park. It was great to see so many young families in downtown Detroit enjoying the beautiful weather. The live music in the heated tent made it the perfect spot to relax and people watch. We loved the lawn games like connect Four and Corn Hole. The atmosphere was so festive.
We caught the People Mover at the Times Square Station and rode to Greektown and walked around. The girls wanted to stop at the Astoria bakery and pick up some macaroons. Then we got back on the People Mover and rode the whole loop back to Times Square.
Because of our harvest theme, we had to stop at Jolly Pumpkin Cafe and Brewery for lunch. We had sandwiches and the amazingly healthy, tasty Kale Caesar. There were lots of TVs with football games on to watch which was perfect. After lunch, we walked across the street to City Bird to stock up on cards and gifts.
All in all, I walked a total of 11,500 steps! I hope you will share your favorite Healthy Harvest activities in the comments section.

I wish is lived in Detroit everything sounds like such fun. We don’t have that many pumpkin patches or harvest festivals in Toronto. You have to drive really far to find them. I’m glad you had fun, thanks for sharing!
